Friday June 10th, 2011

30 May

This show will be an excellent one featuring Steve Taylor from Oakland and Chico’s “phantom music legend” Nate Pendery at Cafe Coda on Friday June 10th.

With a sound steeped in the sunlit tones of Laurel Canyon, the mid 60’s pop and R&B of the Brill Building, and the lo-fi synths of early prog rock, Oakland resident Steve Taylor is equal parts folk troubadour and blue-eyed soul balladeer. A multi-instrumentalist with a surprisingly diverse background, including stints in black gospel churches, avant-garde psych-rock ensembles, and indie rock bands, he’s spent the better part of the last two years as the keyboardist in Brushfire/Universal band Rogue Wave, as well as collaborating with members of Vetiver, Avi Buffalo, and The Mother Hips.

Crazy Wild and Restless

WAITING FOR SATURN

28 Feb

We will be unveiling our new album Waiting For Saturn Friday April 8th, 2011 at the Chico Women’s Club.  We are honored to have our friends The Railflowers, Uni & Her Ukelele, and Evin Wolverton performing as well.  The show is $5 and CD’s will be $5 one night only!

March 10 – Garrett’s B-Day

14 Feb

We’re looking forward to this one.  Our friends Steve Taylor and Graham Patzner (feat ex members of Rogue Wave) will be joining us from Oakland along with local funkaholic soulgazer Dr. Yes.

March 10 also happens to be Garrett’s birthday so don’t forget to give him his proper spankings.

The Origami Recording Lounge

24 Jan

Currently we are in the process of recording our latest album to be titled Waiting For Saturn at the Origami Recording Lounge in Chico, CA.  It is a great space and the owner/engineer Scott Barwick kicks ass.  On Jan 28 we are putting on a show at the Lounge with our friends The Amblers and The Hot Tar Roofers who are coming up from Sac for this show.  We have invested a lot of our energy lately in this studio and that’s why it’s gonna be so much fun to perform there for our friends.  Hope to see you there.
